Who's behind this
This tool came out of a simple observation: fraudulent shops advertise exactly the way honest ones do. The photography is just as good, the copy is just as fluent, and the difference only shows up in the terms and conditions — which nobody reads, because they are long and written not to be read.
We read them for you. We go through the legal documents, validate any EU VAT number against the European VIES system, work out how old the domain is, and check how you are allowed to pay. What comes out is a score, and more usefully, a list of specific things worth a second look — each one quoting the shop's own page.
This is a small project, not a large company. If you find a bug we'll fix it — and there's a good chance the person who replies is the one who wrote the code.
